Tamburaški Sastav Ponoć (“midnight” in English) or TS Ponoć for short, is a Pittsburgh-based tambura band with deeply-rooted musical traditions. TS Ponoć plays a wide variety of music from Eastern Europe and the Balkan states. They mainly focus on music from Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, and Serbia. However, you may hear them introduce some Gypsy, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Greek, Hungarian, and Italian tunes along the way. From traditional bećar songs to modern pop, love ballads to furious instrumentals, TS Ponoć will entertain!
This is the second in our series of “Pay It Forward” events featuring all local music. This show was funded by the music lovers attending the first PIF show on May 14 featuring the Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers (see HERE if that is confusing). Your donation will be used to help fund the third show in the series, to be announced as soon as this show fills up. Your donation entitles you to admission to the TS Ponoć show AND the final show of the series to be held sometime this fall.
We are limiting attendance to 50 adults. This band has a loyal following, so don’t wait to reserve your spot.
Click the “Buy Tickets” link above to register and donate. No registrations will be available at the party, you must register in advance.
This event will be potluck-to-share and BYOB. Ages 21+ please, but kids are welcome to attend with their parents. No donations requested for kids.
Bring some extra $$ to buy merch from the band! We have 60 folding chairs but feel free to bring your own chairs or blankets. The show goes on rain or shine unless it is an unending monsoon.
Public Service Announcement: Collecting donations in advance and limiting attendance is intended to help ensure that the audience is truly interested in the performers and in respectfully experiencing the music. There is nothing wrong with hooting and hollering and clapping and singing and dancing when the music moves you, but this series of shows won’t be background music to talk over, promise.
